The Chicago Bears have got to be the worst 6-3 team in the history of the NFL. This is almost as bad as 2001 when they made the playoffs because of defense and luck. They should have been losing at the half to a San Francisco team that attempted two first half passes, completing zero. Cody Pickett finished 1-13 in the game for 28 yards. Chicago won 17-9. That gives them wins against Minnesota, Detroit twice, Baltimore, New Orleans, and San Francisco. Hopefully they will be brought back to Earth next week when they play Carolina.
Injuries or not, Brian Billick, you are officially on the Budweiser Hot Seat.
The NFL announcing crews are bad, really bad. How can Jim Nantz and Phil Simms be the #1 crew for CBS? Couldn't they play the taped Pat Summerall voice from the old Madden games. Anything would be better than Phil, Captain Obvious, Simms. Combine that with FOX's pretty boy Joe Buck, and I think my head will explode on any given Sunday.
I would love to hear a conversation between Tom Coughlin and Plaxico Burress, or Joe Gibbs and Clinton Portis.
After their Monday Night loss, I think it might be time for the Eagles to shut down Donovan McNabb for the year.
The All-Manning Super Bowl talk is going to cool down at least for a little bit.
Does Joey Harrington play the piano after he gets home from games, and if so, does he mix it up depending on how he played? After his first good game of the year, I bet he went home and belted out something upbeat. Maybe a peppy version of Elton John's "Rocketman," 0r maybe he played Queen's "We Are The Champions," changing the we to I of course. It sure beats playing "Piano Man" all the time which would be fitting for him since Im sure he's lonely with a name like Joey.
I am amazed at what Warrick Dunn can do at only 5-9, 180.
In Marc Bulger's first game back, he threw the ball 40 times. Steven Jackson had only 17 carries. This is not the way I would have went about attacking the Seattle defense.
Larry Johnson will be the Chiefs' #1 back in 2006.
Willis McGahee needs to be more consistent if he wants to be considered an elite NFL back.
If Gus Frerotte has 47 attempts in a game, his team is not going to win. Take notice, Nick Sabin. This is especially scary because Ronnie Brown was averaging 4.5 yards per carry. If my RB is playing like that and Frerotte is my QB, it will be in my RB's hands twice as much as my QB's.
The Bengals have their second "statement" game this week. Hopefully their statement this weekend will be a little more convincing than when they played Pittsburgh.
