5 Best Games to Sit Around and Watch This Weekend. (Besides the Bengals).
5. Oakland @ Washington--I don't know why I like this game. Anytime Randy Moss is involved, I am intrigued. It will be interesting to see how he does against a Redskins team that struggled against Chris Simms last week. Washington needs this game to stay in the hunt. That, combined with Oakland's weak defense, will be the difference in this one. WAS 24 OAK 13
4. Minnesota @ Green Bay--The Packers surprised everyone by winning in Atlanta last week. It's amazing what Favre can do when he has a running game. Samkin Gado proved to be servicable by going for over 100 yards. The Vikings are experiencing a resurrection of sorts by winning their last two games. Their offense isn't killing them anymore, and their defense is improving every week. That being said, they will not win another game in which they have only 137 yards of total offense. GB 28 MIN 20.
3. Buffalo @ San Diego--Who was that guy wearing JP Losman's jersey last week, and what did he do with JP? Losman looked decent throwing two touchdowns in a 14-3 win over the Chiefs. With Kelly Holcomb banged up, Losman will get the start this weekend. The Chargers are looking to make a second half push into the playoffs. They have potential league MVP Ladanian Tomlinson as their workhorse, and Antonio Gates has found last season's form. That postseason push begins this Sunday. SD 27 BUF 14
2. Tampa Bay @ Atlanta--The Bucs have had success in recent years in stopping Michael Vick. They should be able to contain him again, but I don't know if that will be enough. Chris Simms is not going to keep playing the way that he did last week, and they still have not found their running game. After a frustrating loss to Green Bay last week, Atlanta should come out with fire in their eyes given to them by their energetic coach, Jim Mora Jr. Their defense should turn Simms over, and their offense will do just enough to win. ATL 20 TB 17
1. Carolina @ Chicago--This game will the wake-up call for the Chicago Bears. The Bears six wins have been over Baltimore, Detroit twice, New Orleans, San Francisco, and Minnesota. They have a playoff caliber defense, allowing only 253 yards per game, but their offense remains abysmal. I am not sold on Kyle Orton, and I think that their running game is a result of who they have played. I look for the Panthers to find Steve Smith with two big plays over the course of the game. The Carolina D should have a field day against this overmatched offense. Julius Peppers, Mike Rucker, and Brenston Buckner have led a resurgence in their defense that was playing poorly earlier in the year. They should be able to get to Orton and force turnovers which Jake Delhomme and Smith will make into points. CAR 23 CHI 9.
Last Week 1-4.
Year to Date 2-4. (Counting Bengals games).
